On Sunday September 10th, heavy rainfall from Mediterranean storm Daniel caused two dams to collapse, sending flooding more than 20 feet high through the city of Derna, hitting much of Eastern Libya. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the death toll is at 11,300 and over 11,000 missing.

There has been significant damage to housing and infrastructure, with much of the basic infrastructure swept into the Mediterranean sea. Survivors, especially children, are at risk of water related illnesses such as diarrhea, cholera, and dehydration.
