The healthcare infrastructure in Sudan is under immense pressure. Facilities are forced to operate without access to basic surgical tools, sterile environments, or life-saving pharmaceuticals, leaving vulnerable populations at extreme risk.
UOSSM Canada’s mission focuses on immediate, agile medical intervention. By establishing direct-action corridors, we ensure that specialized trauma support and vital supplies reach the front lines of the crisis where they are needed most.
From November 2024 to January 2025, our project in Lebanon supported displaced Syrian and Lebanese populations in the Bekaa region by improving access to essential healthcare and psychosocial services through two mobile medical clinics.
It helped reduce illness by providing primary healthcare, enhanced well-being through individual and group psychosocial support for children and adults, and promoted healthier living conditions through hygiene kit distribution, shelter sterilization, and health awareness sessions.
This project provided emergency medical support to flood-affected communities in Derna and surrounding areas in Libya following Storm Daniel.
It aimed to strengthen strained health services by deploying three doctors and three nurses to deliver essential care, including general consultations, trauma treatment, pediatric and women’s health services, and follow-up for chronic illnesses. The project also supplied essential medical items to primary healthcare centers and improved reporting and coordination to support more effective service delivery.
The initiative supported a Primary Health Care center in Aghbar, Morocco, improving access to essential healthcare services in a community that previously lacked nearby medical facilities.
It enabled thousands of patients from surrounding villages, including vulnerable groups such as displaced and low-income individuals, to receive consultations, treatment, and medication, while also reducing travel burdens and related stress. The project also strengthened service quality through infection prevention and control training for healthcare providers.
