UOSSM responding in Gaza
With the large-scale destruction across Gaza causing wide-spread damage to all hospitals and health facilities, there is an urgent need to restore basic health services to those that are semi-functioning to provide much life-saving medical care to the people of Gaza.
UOSSM Canada has been providing emergency health support in Gaza throughout the war and aims to support the decimated health sector through multiple projects.
Dr Abdullah Al-Rantisi hospital
Supporting the restoration of services at one of the largest children’s hospitals in Gaza, Dr Abdullah Al-Rantisi hospital. With other hospitals (Kamal Adoun and Al-Durra) currently out of service due to their destruction by the Israeli army, the demand for essential services from Al-Rantisi has increased considerably. Despite major damage to the hospital and the destruction of much of the equipment, the ground floor has been restored and support is needed to help provide essential services for children including Dialysis, Pediatric Surgery, Neurology, Hematology, Pulmonology, Thoracic, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, and ENT.
Eye hospital
Supporting the restoration of the only specialist eye hospital in Gaza so that people that have suffered eye injuries can be treated urgently. Essential equipment, consumables and electrical power systems and support for medical staff will be provided to enable the reopening of this essential service for the people of Gaza.
Essential consumables
Blood bank services and essential laboratory medical tests are urgently needed to support all hospitals and health facilities across Gaza. UOSSM Canada aims to enable the provision of these essential services through support for medical staff to ensure that the facilities can function as are required during these difficult times.
Dialysis Project in Gaza
Estimates indicate that a large number of dialysis machines have been damaged, and the available machines only suffice for three hours of dialysis per week, while it should be 12 hours per patient. We are rehabilitating the dialysis center in Nasser Medical Complex.

UOSSM-Canada is committed to managing your donations in a transparent manner. This includes ensuring funds allocated to specific causes are spent accordingly. However, on the rare occasion that UOSSM-Canada receives donations and, for various reasons, is not able to spend them for the specified cause, donations will be allocated towards other most needed causes.
