This World Cup Season, Gaza's Children have a Right to Play
This World Cup, the world is watching. But who is watching Gaza’s children? As stadiums fill and millions gather around screens, Al-Rantisi Hospital, the last children’s hospital in Gaza, is at risk of closing.
While the world counts goals, championships, and victories, countless children in Gaza never get the chance to step onto the field. Behind every statistic is a child whose joy, hopes and future were cut short. Behind every statistic is an injury left untreated, a child whose joy, aspirations and future were cut short.
As football brings the world's children together, currently less than half of Gaza’s hospitals remain partially operational and Al-Rantisi, Gaza’s only specialized children’s hospital, is on the verge of shutdown. Without this critical lifeline, children could lose access to the specialized care they need to survive.
Children in Gaza deserve to access healthcare, safety, education, and the chance to play again.
