The COVID-19 pandemic has posed unique challenges and has further strained health capacities. UOSSM- Canada supports different projects to minimize the impact of the pandemic which are critical to the management of the pandemic. COVID-19 responses are also integrated into other projects through awareness programs, training and personal protective equipment distribution. 

COVID-19 Emergency Response in Northwest Syria

The project helps provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to healthcare workers treating COVID-19 in northwest Syria. UOSSM- Canada also supports the provision of hygiene kits to healthcare workers and patients at different healthcare centres in northwest Syria. 

COVID-19 Emergency Response in Yemen

UOSSM supports the COVID-19 response in Yemen through the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Masks, gloves and sanitizers are provided to healthcare facilities and isolation centres. With a low number of qualified healthcare workers, virtual training programs relating to COVID-19 management are delivered to healthcare workers.
