Position Summary
The Health Officer will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and supporting the implementation of UOSSM Canada’s health programs in Palestine. Based in Ramallah, the Health Officer will work closely with the Programs Manager, field teams, and partners to ensure high-quality delivery of health services in line with donor requirements and organizational standards.
Reports to: Programs Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, implementation, reporting, and monitoring of health projects in Gaza, Ramallah, and other assigned locations.
- Provide technical input to ensure health activities meet international standards and align with local health authority guidelines.
- Conduct field visits to monitor project activities, ensuring quality and accountability.
- Prepare technical and narrative reports, including data collection, analysis, and documentation of project outcomes.
- Liaise with local health authorities, hospitals, and other stakeholders to strengthen coordination and partnerships.
- Support in developing training sessions and capacity-building initiatives for healthcare providers.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations and internal UOSSM Canada policies, especially in areas such as protection, gender equity, and patient safety.
- Contribute to proposal development and project design when needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, or another health-related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least 3 years of professional experience in health project management or implementation, preferably in humanitarian or NGO settings.
- Knowledge of the Palestinian healthcare system and experience working with health authorities.
- Strong reporting, data analysis, and monitoring & evaluation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
- Fluency in Arabic and proficiency in English (written and spoken) required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
