Trauma Response Workshop
Join us for a free, practical training workshop on addressing refugee psychological distress with cultural competency on August 11th, 2018. This workshop is recommended for anyone working directly with refugees and may be of particular benefit to settlement workers, sponsors, student groups, social workers, and teachers. The aim of the workshop is:
- To develop core skills in people working with refugees experiencing acute stress and trauma-related mental health concerns
- To increase mental health literacy of available mental health resources for refugees
Dr. Samer Aldandashi: An expert on Syrian refugee trauma through his work providing psychiatric services to conflict zones.
Dr. Clare Pain: A specialist on cultural aspects of psychological trauma who has worked extensively with refugees experiencing trauma at the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture.
